Is Your VR Integration Ready for USEM?
From the Brazil release, Unified Security Exposure Management (USEM) is the required version of Vulnerability Response (VR). Integrations on ServiceNow’s list of USEM integrations already work with it. For any other, our USEM check installs your app on a Brazil instance with USEM, runs your test plan and lists what changes, for US$750.

What ServiceNow Says
From its USEM office-hours FAQ
- “USEM will become the required version of VR starting with the Brazil platform release.”
- “There should be no changes to custom integrations leveraging the integration framework.”
- “A small number of columns have changed with USEM.”
Source: USEM office hours: FAQs, migration and adoption. “Should” is not a test result. Whether your app is affected depends on which VR tables and columns it reads and writes, and only a test on Brazil shows that.
Is Your App on ServiceNow’s List?
The list, not the version number, is the test
ServiceNow keeps a list of USEM integrations, partner-built apps included.
- On the list: your app works with USEM. For Brazil it needs a release certification, US$1,500.
- Not on the list: start with the USEM check, US$750.
Being on the list doesn’t take a version 30. Of the 41 partner apps on ServiceNow’s list that we found on the Store, none is numbered 30 or higher.
What the USEM Check Includes
One app, one fixed price, a written result
- Install your app on Brazil. The version you ship today, on a Brazil instance with USEM.
- Run your test plan. Every test in it, with USEM in place.
- Write down what changes. What works as it is, and what doesn’t.
- Name the next job. A release certification if nothing changes, or a fix pack if something does.
US$750 per app, fixed. It is credited in full against a follow-on job booked within 30 days. We need access to your vendor instance and your current test plan. See every price.
Common Questions
Is USEM required from the Brazil release?
Yes. ServiceNow says “USEM will become the required version of VR starting with the Brazil platform release”. With Brazil selected, the ServiceNow Store shows only the USEM versions of Vulnerability Response as available. KB0856498 marks the non-USEM line for Yokohama, Zurich and Australia only.
Will my integration break on Brazil?
It depends on what your app reads and writes. ServiceNow says integrations on its framework should need no changes, and that “a small number of columns have changed with USEM”. The USEM check tests your app on Brazil and tells you in writing what changes, if anything.
Does my app need to be version 30 for USEM?
No. Version 30 is USEM’s own version number, not a rule for partner apps. Of the 41 partner apps on ServiceNow’s list of USEM integrations that we found on the Store, none is numbered 30 or higher. The list is the test, not the version.
What if my app is already on ServiceNow’s list?
Then you don’t need the USEM check: ServiceNow already lists your app as a USEM integration. For Brazil it still needs a release certification, at US$1,500 per app, or $1,250 booked before the release. The list is ServiceNow’s “Unified Security Exposure Management integrations” documentation page.
Is the $750 credited against later work?
Yes, in full, against any follow-on job booked within 30 days: a release certification or a fix pack. So if the check finds nothing to change, the release certification for Brazil then costs $750 more. If it finds changes, its written list becomes the fix pack’s scope.
